RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
Make a Meal Program

Ronald McDonald House was opened by Hazel Hawke in November 1990. It offers short-term and long-term accommodation for country families whose children need ongoing medical treatment for cancer and other serious illnesses at Princess Margaret Hospital. There are 12 private bedrooms and 6 self-contained units catering for up to 18 families at any one time.
The Lions Club of Bull Creek is one of many groups of volunteers assisting the Ronald McDonald House at Princess Margaret Hospital, Perth.
Make a Meal Volunteers
Make a Meal Volunteers give families staying at Ronald McDonald House time off by preparing a home-cooked meal, sharing a meal and cleaning up afterwards.
Our Club has been assisting with the Make a Meal program once a month since 2009. A menu is submitted to the supervisor of the House a few days before the rostered meal day and when approved, the Lions Club of Bull Creek purchases the ingredients and 5-6 Club members prepare the meal in the venue. Approximately 30 people are catered for at each meal. Local businesses such as Spud Shed, Woolworths and Muffin Break Carousel often donate ingredients for the meals.
