BULL CREEK LIONS CHARITY GOLF DAY
The Lions Club of Bull Creek has conducted a Lions Charity Golf Days in October for the past four years. This event is held at Glen Iris Golf Club in Jandakot. Teams from local businesses and clubs participate in an enjoyable day of golf followed by an auction of donated items and dinner at the clubhouse.
The aim of the event is to raise funds to assist the worthwhile beneficiaries and the community of Western Australia. The beneficiaries for these events have been Castlereagh Special School in Willetton, Princess Margaret Hospital, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Lions Cancer Institute “On the road cancer screening program”.
As a result of the support from sponsors and other members of the community, these golf days are worthwhile and very successful as the entire money raised goes to community projects.
One of the highlights of the event is a sponsored $10,000 hole-in-one.
When the event started in 2006 some 50 players participated. In 2009 there were 100 participants making this event one of the highlights of the Lions calendar for the Lions Club of Bull Creek.
